What do you do at Allstate Roofing & More, LLC?
I’m an Exterior Designer
How did you get into the industry?
My brother in law was a contractor, and when I was 17 I started working as his “sidekick”. We specialized in roofing, siding and high-end remodels. Eventually, I started doing my own remodels while working in the restaurant industry. I love working with people, and with my contracting and hospitality background, this career was a natural fit.
Do you hold any certifications?
I have a Bachelor’s degree from RIT. In the industry, I am both GAF and Certainteed Master Elite certified. Outside of the industry, I am Food Safety certified and have my Scout Leader certification.
What are your areas of expertise?
Everything! I especially enjoy going into attics and looking at everything, including the ventilation. It tells me what we need to do to preserve a roof.
What do you like most about your job?
I like interacting with customers. It is so important to me to have a working dialogue with my customers, and to help educate them. I enjoy it when customers understand the process and are involved in the project.
What do you want every homeowner to know?
How to maintain their home. Even “maintenance free” homes need maintenance. Homeowners should know what to look for.
What are your hobbies?
There are so many! I enjoy woodworking and camping. I’m a professional photographer. I love to cook. I also have worked with the same Boy Scout troop for 46 years! I was a troop leader for 25 years, and I now cook for the council when they are having their campouts (no hotdogs for them—I make steak, eggs, lasagna, etc.)
What is your favorite food?
What would people be surprised to know about you?
That I’m a very patient person. It is so important to me to take the time to talk to each of my customers and make sure that they understand. I really try to match my pace to theirs.
Describe yourself in three words.
Outgoing. Extremely funny.
